It is Convenient You no longer have to remember to take your plug n' play XM tuner out of the car and hook it up to a huge home adapter. Set it up once and the XRt12 is ready to serve up true high fidelity XM programming in your home. Its component-standard 17-inch wide chassis looks right at home among your cherished audio gear, not like an out-of-place ugly duckling.
Because the XRt12 has a video output you can view all of the standard XM information right on your TV screen--channel number, name, artist name and song title are right there on your TV screen in all their big, easy-to-read-from-across-the-room glory. No more squinting and running up to the teeny weenie little display to see who is performing that kick-butt song.
Hooking it up is a snap. It features both Optical and Coaxial digital outputs for easy connection to surround receivers and processors. The XRt12 also features standard RCA jack analog stereo outputs so you can hook it up to ANY stereo receiver or amp.
No more squinting and running up to the teeny weenie little display to see who is performing that awesome song. And when you hear something new and cool and you want to remember the artist and song you don't even have to find pen and paper-just hit the Memory button on the front panel and the XRt12 will record up to 10 records of channel, artist and song data for later retrieval.
The Polk XRt12 comes with everything you need to enjoy XM radio the day you bring it home-a high gain XM antenna with 20 foot cable (an optional 50 extension is available), a digital optical cable and a 3 cord RCA-type analog audio/video cable are all included in the carton. If you have a whole house distributed audio system like those made by AMX, Crestron, NetStreams or Elan, the XRt12's RS-232 I/O connector allows you to plug it right into the system for XM radio throughout the house. You'll be able to control the XRt12 from any station on the system and display channel, artist and song data on any control screen in the network.
You can set the XRt12 to automatically shut off if a button is not pressed in 30, 60 or 90 minutes
If your audio receiver or amp has a 12Volt trigger output, you can connect your XRt12 to it and have the receiver turn the XRt12 on and off

Warranty, Returns and Exchanges Polk Audio home loudspeakers have a 5-year parts and labor warranty. The amplifiers used in our "powered speakers" (such as Powered Subwoofers) have a 3-year warranty. All outdoor speakers, such as Atrium Series, have a 2-year warranty. db Series mobile speakers have a limited 1-year warranty. Signature Series (SR) and Polk/MOMO Series mobile speakers are warranted for 3 years; Polk/MOMO mobile amplifiers are warranted for 1 year. The XRt12 Reference XM Tuner, I-Sonic Entertainment System, and miDock products have a limited 1-year warranty.

Defective Products must be shipped, together with proof of purchase, prepaid insured to the Factory at 2550 Britannia Boulevard, Suite A, San Diego, California 92154. Products must be shipped in the original shipping container or its equivalent; in any case the risk of loss or damage in transit is to be borne by you. If upon examination at the Factory it is determined that the unit was defective in materials or workmanship at any time during this Warranty period, Polk Audio will, at its option, repair or replace this Product at no additional charge, except as set forth below.
All replaced parts and Products become the property of Polk Audio. Products replaced or repaired under this warranty will be returned to you, within a reasonable time, freight prepaid.

What's with the sales tax?
Hey, we don't like it any more than you do, but sales tax happens. In fact, states are starting to crack down on sales tax from consumers and businesses through internet sales. Polk Audio has determined that it has a taxable presence in most states, and therefore is required to collect and remit sales tax on all sales, including internet sales. Polk Audio sells product to, performs training for, and interacts locally with retailers in all 50 US states and the District of Columbia. It also owns property and employs citizens living in several of these states. States that levy a sales tax consider these circumstances to create a taxable presence in their state.
