It has no bells or whistles.
But you will LOVE it.
This is New-In-Package, buried in a Sacramento warehouse for
over 15 years, these solid, retro-looking gems STILL POWER UP when you pull the battery tab on the back!
They use 4 LR44 button batteries, unusual in itself because these common LR44 batteries are used in LED flashlights.
Almost all electronic devices with screens use the coin-sized flat CR batteries. I will include 4 replacement ALKALINE batteries, which didn't even exist when this vintage translator was made.

COLOR - CODED
This is so simple and fun to use that there is no instruction booklet - none necessary.
Honestly, the only thing I couldn't figure is out how long it takes for the auto shut-off function - because I can't stop playing with this. It has a huge vocabulary of over 4,700 words IN EACH LANGUAGE - that's huge data bank. It's only 5" x 2" and about 1/4" thick - pocket-sized.
But it has the retro curved shape that makes it look more like a mini-console.
It's fun to try and stump the old computer with words it doesn't have. Also, I love to find words that are exactly the same, and spelled exactly the same, in all four langauges. (Radio, Taxi, etc.)
Here's how it works:
1 - Press the ON button
2 - Type in word you need translated
3 - Press the color-coded button for the language you entered
4 - Press the color-coded button for the language you want
WORKS IN ANY LANGUAGE - You can type in a foreign word and get the translation in any other language.
