Metalized Polyester Capacitors 250V Tweeters Mids
This listing, in CANADIAN dollars, is one of a series of listings for electronic parts, connectors and hardware of generally recent manufacture.
In this listing are 12 low inductance, low dissipation factor (0.25% at 25°C), radial lead metalized polyester capacitors, 4 each of 1μF, 2.2μF and 4.7μF. These are sealed caps which aren't affected by high humidity conditions like many wrapped caps are. At their rating of 250V you can safely use these at any power level which your speakers can handle.
Use these to replace the non-polar electrolytics in your speaker crossovers to give a noticeable improvement in mid to high sound quality. Radial caps are best suited for printed circuit board crossovers but may also be used in axial applications. These caps may not be as pretty as the yellow ones, but they'll work every bit as well.
You can also use these to bypass larger electrolytics to reduce their self-inductance. This technique is found extensively in pro audio equipment. Use a capacitance value that's 5 to 10% of the electrolytic cap value.
In comparison with non-polar electrolytics, polyester's low self-inductance retains proper high frequency phasing information which we hear as improved clarity and air (as some describe it). This is one mod which is definitely worth your time.
Here's a list of possible values using just 1 or 2 capacitors:
1μF
2.2μF
3.2μF -- 1μF + 2.2μF
4.7μF
5.7μF -- 1μF + 4.7μF
6.9μF -- 2.2μF + 4.7μF
9.4μF -- 4.7μF + 4.7μF
also bypasses 10μF to 20μF
also bypasses 20μF to 40μF
also bypasses 30μF to 60μF
also bypasses 50μF to 100μF
also bypasses 60μF to 120μF
also bypasses 70μF to 140μF
also bypasses 100μF to 200μF
I prefer using 2 or more capacitors in parallel when possible to further reduce self-inductance.
Shipping costs are given at the end of the listing.
Business Principles
Who needs problems? Life is so much easier when you keep complications to a minimum. For me that means being honest, giving good value and being of service to my customers.
My policies are my guidelines for following my business principles. They're also a statement of my commitment to dealing with you honestly.

Listings
I describe items for eBay listings as accurately as I can. I use photos and descriptions to let bidders know what condition the item is in.
Any claims I make about the item are based on research and testing. I stand by my claims because I've done the work to support them. However...
If you believe I've made an error in a listing, let me know. I'm not above making mistakes and I'll correct them when I confirm an error.
If you're not sure about the price, description, shipping or terms of one of my listings please contact me.
Auction wins or BIN purchases
You've won the auction (or made a Buy It Now purchase) and you'd like your item as soon as possible. That's great. I want to get it to you ASAP as well.
To help me do that, please wait for an invoice or email from me before paying if you've purchased more than one item within 7 days. I need to calculate shipping charges and it's much easier to get paid the right amount than to refund a portion of the shipping charge.
Feedback
I follow the eBay community guidelines when it comes to giving feedback. eBay can only work well when feedback is factually given and received. It creates a safer community for all of us.
I love giving and receiving positive feedback. However, you should be aware that I will post negative feedback if I determine that your actions have been harmful to the eBay community.
Having said that, I don't enjoy giving negative feedback and will work with you to resolve the problem.
I also ask that you provide feedback for me which is appropriate for the items and service you've received from me.
If you feel you must leave me negative feedback please give me a chance first to correct the problem. I'm more interested in you returning to buy more often from me than in one-time sales.
Endorsements
I don't give endorsements of other people's products or services and I don't use any for mine. You can be assured that if I sell you an item, or provide a service, I will never use your name in any form of promotion -- business or personal.
This includes eBay listings, advertising, phone calls, email, etc. The only endorsement I support is the eBay feedback system.
Returns
I'll allow 7 days from when you receive your shipment to contact me about returning an item. However, you must follow my instructions carefully. I will refund the purchase price after I receive the item in the same condition as it was when shipped. Shipping charges are non-refundable.
If your item was damaged in shipment I can't accept it as a return. See "Shipping damage" below.
If I made an error in the description of the item, or in the item which was shipped out, I'll also refund shipping charges both ways.
Some items are sold as-is with no claims as to functionality or condition. I do not accept returns on these items unless I made an error.
Shipping
Posted shipping rates
In most cases, I provide standard shipping fees for single purchases. Just choose the shipping option you want during checkout. When you win more than one auction, or complete a BIN purchase, within 7 days I'll combine shipping.
Shipping options
My normal shipping method is by Canada Post Expedited Parcel or Expedited Parcel-USA. Smaller items valued at less than CAN $100 may be shipped by Small Packets Air to most destinations outside of Canada.
I can also ship by XpressPost, Purolator and Fedex. For international shipments DHL is Purolator's agent. Be aware that international shippers such as DHL and Fedex charge a customs brokerage fee which you are responsible for paying.
If you choose a non-insured shipping method, such as Lettermail, you take your chances. I'm not responsible for items lost in the mail. I recommend the Small Packets service instead for USA and International shipments.
Larger, or heavier, items which Canada Post can't handle in their system will ship by Fedex. In some cases you can contract for a freight company to pickup. I can also arrange local deliveries.
Combined Shipping
Let me know if you're planning to make additional purchases. When you've won an item go to "Items I've Won" on eBay, click on the "Pay Now" button and click on the "Request total from seller" link which is just below the amount you owe for the purchase.
In the "Message to seller:" box tell me the auctions you're currently bidding on and when you expect you'll be finished your buying.
I'll bill you the standard shipping fee for the first item and adjust shipping for the final item, as long as all of your purchases are completed within 7 days and full payment is made. However, I can make exceptions in special cases.
I ship at my cost plus a materials and handling fee which averages out to cover actual costs. I don't try to make money on shipping.
Multiple item BIN purchases ship at the cost as displayed in the listing.
Shipping damage
If your item was damaged in shipment you'll need to file a claim with your carrier. When possible, inspect your item when it's delivered in the presence of the person who delivers the package.
If you detected damage after you open your package contact the carrier immediately. If physical damage is evident, print off the original auction listing to prove origin and condition and forward to the carrier along with the claims documentation.
I usually provide enough photos in the listing to confirm the condition of your item before it was shipped.
Customs
Americans importing goods from Canada have a US $200 exemption before US Customs assesses duty.
For other countries, please check with your local customs and excise office to find what your duties and taxes are for each item.
Payment
Currently I only accept PayPal. With PayPal you have the option of paying from your PayPal balance account, directly from your bank account or with a major credit card. When you pay by eCheck through your bank account the payment can take up to 7 days to reach me.
I'll wait 7 days to receive your payment after which I'll relist the item and I'll file the transaction with eBay as uncompleted.
In all cases I wait for funds to clear before shipping your item(s).
Currency
My auctions are listed in Canadian dollars to avoid the multiple headaches of tracking the day-by-day auction costs and winning bids.
eBay will show you the auction costs in CAN $ and in your local currency, so you'll always know how much the item is going for and how much you're actually bidding.
