Though Kenwood (even on the rear label) lists this as a 'Receiver', it isn't a receiver as we've now come to know one----this does need to be connected to a Power Amp, preferably a Multi-Channel Power Amp (like the Matching 6-Channel, 100-WPC KM-X1 we ALSO have listed today!!). It is from the early/mid 1990's, arguably the last of the great Kenwood Components until their recent top of the line 'Sovereign's. Though it isn't Dolby Digital (it goes as high as Pro-Logic), the THX Processing is SO good that, on most sources, you won't notice the difference, and on Music Sources, it is even MORE 'Natural' and 'Balanced' than 5.1. It has way more than enough Anaolg Inputs Outputs to satisfy ANY enthusiast (Including a Superb MM Phono Stage!), and has both Composite and S-Video Switching. And if you DO have a Kenwood Power Amp, there's both a DB-25 Cable Connection, and an 8-Pin 'DIN' Connection. This has been VERY lightly used, is in PERFECT Operation Condition, has but a few tiny scratches, and comes with the Original Owner's Manual, Original FM Antenna (Great FM Tuner, by the way!), and a Remote Control (not original, a universal which controls just about every major function; and those it doesn't can be operated from the front drop-down panel). Even if you use this as a 2-Channel (Stereo) Preamplifier (and it really shines in this mode!), consider this: Where else will you get an over $1,000.00 Preamp (and THAT was 15 years ago!), WITH a built-in Tuner and Phono Stage, AND Remote Control, at THIS Price???!!!
